Ibera Wetlands and Iguazu Waterfalls

Enjoy this amazing trip in natural protected areas getting in connection with the wild environment. Iguazu will surprise you with the wonderful Falls and in Ibera Wetlands you will see unique protected flora and fauna. Horseback riding, kayak, sailing and trekking in this area are some of the activities you can do.

Day 1: Arrival in Iguazu

On arrival you will be driven to Loi Suites hotel.

Day 2: Visit to the Waterfalls on the Argentine side – Jet Boat Adventure

We will visit the three main circuits of the Iguazu Falls on Argentine side:
*The Lower Circuit, with its main falls: Garganta Del Diablo, San Martín and Bozzetti. Here is where we will enjoy the Jet Boat Adventure.
*The Superior Circuit with a panoramic view of the falls.
*The Devil's Throat, the most impressive of the falls and can only be visited on the Argentine side.

Day 3: Visit to the Waterfalls on the Brazilian side

We will explore the Falls on the Brazilian side. Walking along its walkways we will have wonderful panoramic views of all the falls that are part of the Iguazu Brazilian forest.

Day 4: Iguazu – Ibera Wetlands

We will travel southward to Posadas by minivan and then change to 4X4 vehicles to drive to Ibera Wetlands. We will stay at the Rincon Del Socorro hotel.

On our way from Iguazú to Posadas we will visit the Ruins of San Ignacio, the best preserved heritage site of the Jesuit Reductions, declared aWorld Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO. During the tour we visit the interpretation center and the museum guided by professional tour guides.

Day 5: Local fauna watching - Hiking

We will explore the area on foot looking for the footprint and detecting the presence of the Iberá animals. Some of the animals we will spot have been successfully reintroduced in the recent years. We will have the possibility of see endemic species such as the yellow cardinal, the collared yetapá and the harpy eagle. The complete list of birds reaches 350 species.

Day 6: Sailing in Laguna Ibera

Today we will visit the area of Laguna Iberá and Colonia Carlos Pellegrini, which used to be a town of shellfish gatherers (hunters). This boat trips gets closer to the animals that inhabit the lagoon without scaring them: alligators, swamp deer and hundreds of birds.

Day 7: Horseback riding and night safari

Today will explore the area on horseback, enjoying the landscape from another point of view having the chance to spot deer, among other species. It is a half –day activity and can last between 2 and 3 hours. At night we will make a magnificent safari make special contact with the species that go hunting when the temperature gets cooler.

Day 8: End of the tour

Say goodbye and transfer to Posadas Airport.

This area is surrounded by subtropical forest with many cascades and rivers and an amazing variety of flora and fauna. In the Iguazu Falls there are 275 cascades of up to 70 meters high, which are formed by the water flowing from the Iguazu river. The most amazing waterfall is the Devil’s Throat which produces a deafening sound.

The Ibera Marshlands are an enormous wetland of approximately 15 to 20 square km –it is the second largest after the wetlands in Brazil- the Iberá Marshlands are located in the province of Corrientes. The ecosystem in this region is subtropical and tropical; it is formed by marshes, streams and lagoons, with a great variety of local fauna.
