Puerto Varasis located in the south region of Chile, among hills, mountains, lakes and woods. A spectacular destination for those who love snow and nature. The city has around 30,000 inhabitants and their principal activity is tourism and agriculture. The city was originally colonized by Germans; you can still appreciate the colonial architecture in cafes, restaurants and inns in the center of the city. It is also a destination near Lago Llanquihue, the biggest in Chile.

Climate

The climate in the city of Puerto Varas is mild and rainy. There is rainfall all the year round, and stronger in winter. Because of this, it is that this region has developed such and extraordinary nature. In winter rainfall in more frequent but, not as strong as in spring.

Summers are cool, with maximum temperatures that in normal conditions don’t exceed 25°C. In winter, temperatures don’t exceed 9°C during June and July. The average annual temperature is below 10°C. Wind is an important factor when defining the climate in the city, because the chill sensation in winter easily decreases to -2 or -3°C.
