The city of San Carlos de Bariloche is located among mountains and woods, on the shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi, in the province of Río Negro,1,640 km from the city of Buenos Aires.

Climate
The climate in this region is continental and cold although the temperature could be variable independently from the season. On the same day we can have a big thermal amplitude. During months such as January, during the day, the temperature could reach 20/28°C and occasionally even more than 30°C. In the evening, around 15°C. In mid winter, during the day -10°C/1°C and at night 0°C or less. The wet season generally begins in May and could be very changeable, depending on where we are. In Bariloche it rains around 500 mm per year, while the nearest we get to Chile, annual rainfall could reach 3,500 mm per year.

This region can be visited the whole year round, though the activities will vary, depending on the season you choose. In summer, all outdoor activities can be enjoyed, while in winter, the principal attraction is the Cerro Catedral and its snow. An excellent time of the year to visit Bariloche is during spring, when the climate is very agreeable and the last days of the skiing season can be enjoyed at lower prices and more relaxed.
