The climate in this region is moderate and mild, although it is dry due to its proximity to the high mountains in the Andes. The temperature in summer is between 18°C and 33°C with hot days and cool nights; in winter the minimum temperature is 3°C with occasional maximum temperatures of 16°C. Rainfall is scarce and in winter it snows in the mountains, which is ideal for winter sports.

Mendozacan be visited all the year round. The principal activities can be done the whole year without limitations. During winter, you can enjoy winter sports in Las Leñas, worldwide known, or in Potrerillos. During summer it is ideal for practising outdoor sports such as climbing, trekking, rafting or trying to climb the highest mountain in America, the Aconcagua, 6.962 m above sea level.
