The city of Mendoza belongs to the region known as Cuyo, which includes de provinces of Mendoza, San Juan, the west of San Luis and the south of La Rioja.
Climate
The climate in this region is moderate and mild, although it is dry due to its proximity to the high mountains in the Andes. The temperature in summer is between 18°C and 33°C with hot days and cool nights; in winter the minimum temperature is 3°C with occasional maximum temperatures of 16°C. Rainfall is scarce and in winter it snows in the mountains, which is ideal for winter sports.
When to travel?
Mendozacan be visited all the year round. The principal activities can be done the whole year without limitations. During winter, you can enjoy winter sports in Las Leñas, worldwide known, or in Potrerillos. During summer it is ideal for practising outdoor sports such as climbing, trekking, rafting or trying to climb the highest mountain in America, the Aconcagua, 6.962 m above sea level.
How long?
We recommend at least two nights for the most important activities. In case you wanted an extra activity, we recommend adding two extra nights. If you want to ski, there are promotional three or seven days packages. If your intention is to climb the Aconcagua, not only will you need the training this requires, but also dedicate around three weeks to this adventure.
