“Huemul Circuit” Expedition – 6 days and 5 nights

6 days and 5 nights

This is an ideal tour, which only lasts five days, for travelers to have the opportunity of visiting the Cerro Huemul, all the geography in the region and the amazing beauty of the Southern Patagonian Ice and the Viedma Glacier. An expedition visiting one of the most barren zones in the Los Glaciares National Park.

Day 1: Buenos Aires -Chalten

Fly to Calafate and transfer to Chalten

Day 2: Toro Lagoon

This is a warming up day and we will hike mostly through the forest on a nice trail until we get Laguna Toro campsite. The trails pass through beautiful meadows and we will have wonderful panoramic views of Fitz-Roy and Cerro Torre.

Day 3: Paso del Viento –Southern Patagonian Ice field viewpoint

Crossing the Túnel River via a zip line or wading depending on the river conditions the adventure begins. Later we will behiking uphill along big and spectacular moraines till we reach Paso del Viento – an amazing viewing point of the Southern Ice Field. Once over the western slopes we descend towards Paso del Viento camp, a perfect resting place

Day 4: Paso Huemul

This day we will go alongside the trail to Viedma glacier seeing it at all times from above. During this day we will see shinning mountain lakes and after lunch we will go uphill trekking to reach Paso Huemul. At the top we might have the chance to see some Condors flying around. After getting some rest we will start descendingon a long and steep trail to get to our next camp at Bahia de los Tempanos (Icebergs), on the shore of Viedma lake

Day 5: Viedma Lake – El Chaltén

After breakfast we will start descending to the Viedma Lake and Cabo de Hornos Bay. Arrival at Túnel bay.

Day 6: El Chaltén - El Calafate - Buenos Aires

Say goodbye and transfer to the airport
