Wine tour in Salta and Jujuy

In this Winery tour we will visit the north of Argentina and discover high-altitude vineyards in the region. From Quebrada de Humahuaca, where we will find excellent high-altitude wine, to Los Calchaquíes Valleys, where the Torrontés grape is the star of this journey. We will enjoy unique landscapes and lots of flavors in this amazing wine route.

Day 1: Salta – City tour and lunch

In this city tour we will walk through the old town visiting the Basilica Cathedral, the San Francisco Minor Basilica, the San Bernardo Convent and the Güemes Monument, among others. Slowly we will get to know the history and culture of Salta "La Linda".

Day 2: Wines and wineries in Cafayate with lunch

Today we will start our Wine tour through one of the most picturesque places in the region, the “Quebrada de las Conchas”, famous for its different colored rock formations such as "The Amphitheater" and “The Devil's Throat".
Around noon we will enjoy some delicious empanadas and we will arrive in Cafayate just in time to start with our wine route.

Day 3: Wines and wineries in Cafayate with lunch

Today we will head to the Cajon Mountains where the highest terroirs are located. There we will visit one of the most prestigious wineries in Argentina and at noon we will visit another renowned winery where we can enjoy a gourmet lunch with the best view of Cafayate. We will also taste some of its wines from the cellar.

In the afternoon it is possible to visit another winery or you can just take a walk around the small town.

Day 4: Wines and wineries in Colomé with lunch

Today we will travel to Colomé to continue with our wine route, taking the famous National Route 40. We will pass through small colonial towns founded by the first Spanish settlers and we will be amazed by the “Quebrada de las Flechas”: sharp blades pointing at the sky. At noon we will arrive at Estancia Colomé, an old productive oasis where we can rest and enjoy excellent wines combined with excellent cuisine.

Day 5: Los Cardones National Park and visit to a winery and lunch

In the morning we will visit a very picturesque place in the Calchaquí Valley: Molinos, a small colonial town and the ancient capital of the entire region.  Following the trip we will enter the Los Cardones National Park where we will find giant cacti. At noon we will arrive in Cachi, a charming little town that still breathes pure colonial air.

In the afternoon we will visit two boutique wineries which produce excellent high altitude wines.

Day 6: Abra del Acay -  Salinas Grandes – Tilcara con almuerzo

Today we will do a safari through the high mountains of the Andes.  In the middle of the desert we will stop at San Antonio de los Cobres to have lunch and once in the Salinas Grandes we will have time to take fun photos in this white scenery
Later on we will head to Purmamarca descending along the Cuesta de Lipán to finally reach Tilcara to stay for the night.

Day 7: Wines and wineries in La Quebrada de Humahuaca

Continuing with our wine route we will drive for half an hour to find high-altitude vineyards. The first winery is of the most important wineries in the world (today in second place), having its vineyards at 3,329 meters above sea level.
At midday we will return to Tilcara for lunch and in the afternoon we will continue with the wine tour visiting a pioneer winery in the Quebrada de Humahuaca.

Day 8 End of the tour in Jujuy or Salta

Leaving Tilcara we will start our journey southwards, where we will quickly notice a strong contrast with the arid and colorful landscape. Upon arrival in the city of Salta or Jujuy, say goodbye and transfer to the airport.
