Day 1: Piedra del Fraile
Breakfast and transfer to Puente sobre Río Eléctrico, starting the expedition to Piedra del Fraile. Two hours going through the woods that border the Río Eléctrico and arrival at Piedra del Fraile (this is an important historical region: it was the camp site of the Padre de Agostini). Once out of the woods, the walk continues to the Glaciar Marconi, going past some morraines and crossing the Río Pollone; arrival at the camp site located on the border of the lago Eléctrico. Dinner at the camp site.
Day 2: Paso Marconi
Breakfast and starting very early to the Glaciar Marconi, weather conditions permitting. After approximately an hour and a half walk, you will start stepping on ice. It will be necessary to use ice rackets, crampons and ropes because the trekking is on a glacier area. Full day walk to go up the Paso Marconi and reach the Gorra Blanca Shelter (in Chile), where you will dine and sleep.
Day 3: Campo de Hielo
After breakfast, full day walk on the ice field, in the surroundings of the Chilean Shelter from where there is a spectacular view. From the shelter, looking towards the east you can see: the Cerro Fitz Roy, the Cerro Torre, Pier Giorgio and Pollone; and to the west, a panoramic view of the Southern Ice Field. Dinner and overnight at the camp site.
Day 4: Back to El Chaltén
After breakfast we will start descending the Glaciar Marconi towards the Valle del Río Eléctrico, This is a unique experience: passing from a white and cold world of snow and ice to a green world in the woods. Transfer to El Chaltén.
