Ushuaia is located in the south of Argentina, in the Big Island of Tierra del Fuego; it is the southernmost city in the world; it is situated on the coast of the bay with the same name, on the Beagle Channel.Ushuaia is surrounded by sea, lakes, woods and mountains. It is a pretty and picturesque city which has an important accommodation infrastructure providing high quality services for tourists from all over the world during the whole year.

Climate

The climate is cold and changeable all the year round. Nevertheless, the city is protected from the intense cold due to its location next to the Beagle Channel and the Andes Chain. During summer, the average temperature is 10°C, while in winter the average temperature is 1°C.

When to travel?

Ushuaia can be visited the whole year round, although the season you choose will determine the activities. If you prefer doing trekking, the best season is summer and the end of spring, because the long days in summer (18 hours daylight) facilitate outdoor activities and also, if your destination is Antarctica, all cruises leave Ushuaia between December and March. If on the contrary you would like to practice winter sports, the best time would be from June to September.

How long?

We recommend at least two nights in Ushuaia to enjoy the activities in this zone. If you are thinking of boarding a cruise to Antarctica, you will have to add an extra night after your trip on the cruise.

Unmissable attractions

Tierra del Fuego National Park. Navigating the Beagle Channel, End of the World Train, enjoy a delicious local speciality, king crab.
