In this package tour you will visit the most important lakes in the south of Argentina and Chile, as well as enjoying the vibrant capitals Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile. An unforgettable experience between the cities of Puerto Varas and San Carlos de Bariloche in one of the most beautiful and natural landscapes in the region.

Day 1: Santiago, City Tour

Arrival at the International Airport in Santiago and transfer to the chosen hotel. In the afternoon we go on a city tour visiting the Iglesia de San Francisco, the Palacio de la Moneda (the Mint Palace) at present the Government House. Plaza de Armas (the main square) Iglesia Catedral, the Central Post-Office and the Municipality. View of the Cerro Santa Lucía, where the city was founded and a visit to the principal neighborhoods. Transfer back to the hotel.

Day 2: Free Day

Breakfast and free day.
As an optional excursion we suggest going to Viña del Mar and Valparaíso. Here there is a city tour visiting the surroundings and we will visit “La Sebastiana” the house where Pablo Neruda wrote important works which made him win the Literature Nobel Prize. Today this house has been turned into a museum (closed on Mondays). We continue with the trip to Viña del Mar, named Ciudad Jardín (Garden City) where we will visit its beaches. Back to Santiago.

Day 3: Santiago, Viña Concha y Toro

Breakfast and visit to Viña Concha y Toro (except Sundays), one of the famous vineyards in Parque where you will visit its central patio, the manor house and the lake surrounded by gardens. Tasting the best wines produced at the winery. Return to Santiago and rest of the day free.

Day 4: Santiago – Puerto Montt – Puerto Varas

Breakfast and transfer from the hotel to the airport in Santiago to board the flight to Puerto Montt. Arrival and transfer to the chosen hotel in the city of Puerto Varas. Check-in. Free Afternoon.

Day 5: Puerto Varas – Cruce de Lagos – Bariloche

Breakfast and transfer to the Cruce de Lagos office where we will start the famous trip Cruce de Lagos Chile – Argentina (Lakes Crossing from Chile to Argentina).

PUERTO VARAS / PETROHUE

76 km (47 miles) 2 hours by bus.
Maximum height: 150 meters (500 feet) above sea level.
Starting in Puerto Montt by bus we pass the city of Puerto Varas and continue along the south border of Lago Llanquihué to Río Petrohué. There is a short stop to visit the famous falls of the river of the same name. Then we continue to the port of Petrohué.

PETROHUE / PEULLA

20 nautical miles – 1 hour and 40 minutes navigation.
Maximum height: 150 meters (500 feet) above sea level.
Departure from Petrohue, boarding a vessel we start the Cruce de Lagos (Lake Crossing). We navigate the Lago Todos los Santos also called “Lago Esmeralda” Lake Emerald due to the green color of its water. During the crossing we will enjoy the magnificent view of the Cerro Osorno and Cerros Puntiagudo and Tronador. Arrival at Peulla and lunch (not included) according to the excursion.

PEULLA / PUERTO FRIAS

27 km (17 miles) – 2 hours by bus (including border crossing formalities at Customs Office)
After the formalities at the International Police Office and the Customs on the Chilean side, we will continue by bus bordering the Andes. During a short trip we will see the “Valdiviana” cold forest and its amazing mountains. Then we arrive at Puerto Frías, the highest point of the trip, reaching 976 meters high. Here we complete formalities at the International Police Office and Customs to enter Argentina.

PUERTO FRIAS / PUERTO ALEGRE

4 nautical miles – 20 minutes navigation
Maximum height 762 meters (2500 feet) above sea level
A short navigating trip through the green waters of glacial origin of the Lago Frías. Arrival at Puerto Alegre.

PUERTO ALEGRE / PUERTO BLEST

3 km (2 miles) – 15 minutes by bus
Maximum height 756 meters (2480 feet) above sea level.
A short trip by bus will take us to the Alerce Woods in Puerto Blest.

PUERTO BLEST / PUERTO PAÑUELO

15 nautical miles – 1 hour 5 minutes navigation
Maximum height 756 meters (2480 feet) above sea level.
We will navigate the deep blue waters of the Nahuel Huapi Lake boarding a catamaran. From there we will have a magnificent view of the traditional alpine style Llao Llao Hotel and its surrounding gardens.

PUERTO PAÑUELO / BARILOCHE

25 km (16 miles) 30 minutes by bus
Maximum height 760 meters (2490 feet) above sea level.
Departure from Puerto Pañuelo by bus to downtown Bariloche along the beautiful road that borders the Nahuel Huapi Lake, an area dominated by the typical alpine architecture. Arrival in Bariloche. Transfer to the chosen hotel and check-in. We recommend dining at El Ahumadero which belongs to the Weiss family where you can taste regional products such as smoked trout, deer leg, boar leg and smoked cheese among other exquisite delicacies from the Patagonian gastronomy.

Day 6: Cerro Catedral and Circuito Chico (Small Circuit)

Breakfast and starting the excursion to Cerro Catedral which carries its name on account of its peaks with the shape of a gothic cathedral. Cerro Catedral is the most important winter resort in South America. Back to the city of Bariloche.
In the afternoon we start touring the Small Circuit. The starting point is at Av. Ezequiel Bustillo, and after travelling for 8 km we get to Playa Bonita, from where you can see Isla Huemul. As the trip continues we arrive at the base of Cerro Campanario (1050 m). The summit may be reached by chairlift from where you can appreciate the vastness of the lakes and other natural attractions. Afterwards, the circuit leads to the magnificent Llao Llao hotel and San Eduardo Chapel, Puerto Pañuelo, the Angostura bridge, Bahía López, at the foot of the hill of the same name. Punto Panoramico (Panoramic Point), a natural balcony from where you can admire the whole Lago Moreno and Península Llao Llao.

Day 7: Free Day

Breakfast and free day for shopping. We suggest the delicious regional chocolates. We recommend going on an excursion to Victoria Island and Arrayanes Woods, unique in the world by the purity of their samples and its incomparable cinnamon-coloured trees.

Day 8: Bariloche – Buenos Aires

Breakfast and transfer to the airport in Bariloche to board the flight back to Buenos Aires. Arrival in Buenos Aires and transfer to the chosen hotel. Check-in. Rest of the day, free.

Day 9: Buenos Aires, City Tour

Breakfast and city tour visiting Plaza de Mayo, where you will also see the Metropolitan Cathedral and Casa Rosada (Government House), Teatro Colón, La Boca district with its famous Caminito street and modern Puerto Madero where docks were refurbished to allocate sumptuous restaurants along the river. Transfer back to the hotel. Rest of the afternoon free to go shopping.

Day 10: Free Day. Tango Show Dinner Night

Breakfast and free day. At night we go to a Dinner Show in one of the many Tango houses where you will enjoy a delicious dinner and a Tango show of international quality.
As optional tours we recommend going to the Tigre Delta or to a Fiesta Gaucha (gaucho show in a ranch).

Day 11: End of the Tour

Breakfast and transfer to the airport in Ezeiza to board your return flight.

The Andes Crossing can be done in one day, from the 1st of September to the 30th of April. From the 1st of May to the 31st of August you must stay overnight in Peulla (not included).
