This activity starts early in the morning starting from Ushuaia on Route 3.

After crossing the Andes Mountain Range through the Garibaldi Pass: Standing at 450 meters above sea level, this is one of the most interesting points of the trip. We will make a stop in the small town of Tolhuin, the heart of the island, where we will visit a traditional meeting point for locals and visitors: La Unión Bakery. This antique place is part of the charm of the village. We may enjoy a delicious coffee break among the aroma of pastries and the perfume of the hot chocolate.

We will arrive by midday to Provincial Route “A”, taking then a gravel road towards the Atlantic Ocean and San Pablo Cape. Arriving there, we will walk to an isolated mountain where there is an abandoned lighthouse.

From that point we will be able to appreciate El Desdemona, a ship that ran aground in 1983. We will sail through time, when one cold winter morning that year, a huge ship ran aground on the shores of the Argentine Sea.

After exploring this mysterious giant, we will visit Estancia Rolito, a lovely ranch that still preserves the spirit of family entrepreneurship based on sheep tradition and which is a pioneer in opening its gate to rural tourism. The owner couple Ani and Pepe, together with their children, will show us the farm allowing us to learn a very particular way of life.
