Full Glacier Sailing

Full Glacier Sailing will run along the Spegazzini & Upsala glaciers, going into the bays that they form. It also includes sailing on the iceberg belt located at about 20 km from Upsala Glacier. The route discovers only the north area of Argentino Lake.

From the Punta Bandera port, 47km from El Calafate, we start sailing through the North Arm of Argentino Lake. We cross the Boca del Diablo bound for the Upsala Canal and sail among the large icebergs that come off the front of the Upsala Glacier. Then we enter the Spegazzini Channel and moments later we will have the first view of the Seco Glaciar.

We continue sailing to the front of the Spegazzini Glacier where we will also see the Heim Sur and Peineta glaciers. We prepare to disembark at the Spegazzini Base and begin the visit to the area by walking through the forest path to the Spegazzini Refuge. This 300 meter trail is handicap accessible and as we walk through it, we stop at some lookout points to observe the entire Bay of Los Glaciers. In the refuge we can have lunch, visit the shop or contemplate the amazing scenery. For those who like to hike, it is possible take the mountain trail which through a wooded path, with natural viewpoints, full of amazing views.

The ships have very good heating and you only need to stay on the outside decks in case you want to take pictures.

If travelers want to upgrade the experience making it an exclusive and unforgettable trip it is possible to access to the Captain’s Club, a room for only 18 persons, with an on-board service, a snack bar with alcoholic drinks and soft drinks during the whole trip.
