The Adventure to the Hidden Glaciers explores a virgin area off the beaten track. Exclusively for a maximum of 12 people, you’ll arrive to Laguna de los Témpanos, to see Grande, Gorra, Cubo, Frías and Dickson Glaciers.

During this tour we will enjoy the southernmost landscape at the Glaciers National Park.

We will immerse in the land of glaciers along Route 15 and from the Lago Roca Post of the National Park we will tour a valley that takes us from El Calafate towards the border with Chile, which has glacier formations of 20 thousand years old, and also some moraines from the last decade.

In the surroundings of the Estancia Nibepo Aike we will board the Guarda-parque Fonzo motor boat to sail the South arm of the Argentino Lake, towards the south end, where we will disembark.

Discovering this unexplored area we will enjoy a privileged trek to the Frías lake, sailing in Zodiac motorboats across the lake, and finally trekking to the Grande Glacier. A valley with changing landscapes, till we reach the glaciers amphitheatre. In this spot we will have lunch viewing the Grande, Cubo and Dickson Glaciers.
The whole trekking takes 6 hours and 14 km walk, with a slight slope and medium technical requirements.

During the return trip on the same Route 15, we will share some “mates” and enjoy the sunset

Recommendations

It is important to have the adequate clothing for this activity: comfortable shoes to walk in a mountainous terrain and warm clothes to tolerate 0°C and heavy rain. Also, sunglasses and sunscreen are suggested to take with you
