Viedma Trek from El Calafate

This activitytells the story of the greatest glacier in Argentina. After an hour of navigation, the trekking will start only on a rocky promontory, ideal for the Glaciology talks and for the observation of the glacier from different heights and natural viewpoints.

The Viedma Trek from El Calafate activity tells the story over the years of the greatest Argentine glacier: The Viedma Glacier.

At 07hs we'll look for the passengers at their hotel in El Calafate, departing at 08hs to El Chaltén. The Viedma Trek from El Calafate activity starts at 12hs from the Puerto Bahía Túnel to the Viedma Glacier. The navigation through the bay, due to the depth of the lake, will be extremely pleasant, allowing to enjoy the landscape, composed by Fitz Roy and Huemul Mounts.

About an hour later, the landing will be on a rocky promontory, where trekking will begin, which will allow you to know the history of the glacier, the changes it has undergone over the years. The guides will give talks about Glaciology on that rocky terrain, the only surface of the trekking of this excursion.

The activity will approach the passengers to the glacier, being able to admire the diverse colors and spaces from diverse heights and natural lookouts.

At 17:45hs will be the boarding in Puerto Bahía Túnel for the return to El Calafate.

The Viedma Trek from El Calafate activity lasts a full day. As it is a trekking on rocky terrain, the passengers must be in good physical condition and the minors - between 8 and 18 years old - must be accompanied by their parents or guardians.
