Day 1: Arrival at El Chaltén – Trekking to Laguna Torre
Transfer to the hotel from the bus terminal. Together with a guide, we will start the trek along the Fitz Roy valley to Laguna Torre. During this activity we will go stopping at different panoramic views to enjoy the Cerro Solo, the cordón Adela and the imposing Cerro Torre. Before reaching the lagoon, we get to the Padre de Agostini wild camp site, a busy place and base for expeditions of climbers. Bordering the river, we reach the Laguna Torre, from where the Glaciar Torre, the front of Glaciar Grande, the cordón Adela, Cerro Torre and Mocho, Torre Egger, Agujas Standhart, Bífida and Cuatro Dedos can be seen. Back to El Chaltén.
Day 2: Laguna de los Tres
After breakfast, setting off along the Fitz Roy trail, ascending for 20 minutes, till we reach the lookout at the Río de las Vueltas valley, admiring the fantastic view. Then, after another trek, we arrive at the first viewpoint at the Fitz Roy Massif, already seeing the Agujas Saint Exupery, Poincenot, Fitz Roy, Mermoz, Guillaumet. Another two hours walk through woods where there is a variety of singing birds, until we reach the Rio Blanco camp site. Another hour ascent till we get to the Laguna de los Tres and the most amazing and breathtaking view: The Fitz Roy, the Glaciar de Los Tres and its lagoon. Just a moment to feel the sensation of smallness before nature. Back to El Chaltén.
