In the Park we can see the typical species of the Andean Patagonian forest such as shrubs, beeches, ñires, Old Man’s Beard Lichen and flowers covering an area of 63,000 hectares. We will tour the most beautiful places in the Park, stopping at the panoramic views of the Beagle Channel surrounded by mountains and forests. On our way to the Bahía Lapataia we can see peat bogs and beaver dams. From there we will travel to Laguna Verde. We will go on a walk towards Laguna Negra or take the trail to the beaver dams before continuing to Bahía Lapataia, where we will visit archaeological sites and the starting point of the Panamericana route which ends in Alaska. On our way back to the city we will make a stop at Lago Roca. Later, we continue to Ushuaia.

The glacier covers an area of 195 square meters, its width is 5 km and the height of its ice walls is up to 60 meters above the lake’s level. As you follow the catwalks you will be led to face the glacier and admire it in all its grandeur. Consult about the extra charge for the minitrekking activity on the glacier, a two hour circuit accompanied by mountain guides. Then you will stop for lunch at a shelter (take a lunch box with you) and then back to the catwalks where you will spend an hour and a half watching the most incredible views and calving activity. Back to the hotel.

Day 7: Free Day for Optional Activitys

Breakfast. On this free day we recommend an optional activity to the ranch “Estancia Cristina”. The activity involves navigating the Lago Argentino among huge ice floes and magnificent views of the western front of the Glaciar Upsala, continuing through the Cristina Canal to the disembarkation point at the Estancia Cristina where there are many activities to do. Another good option is Navegación Todo Glaciares (navigating all the glaciers) visiting the front of the Glaciar Upsala and disembarking at Bahía Onelli (only if the ice barrier allows it), then navigating the surroundings of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Another shorter and cheaper option is Navegación Ríos de Hielo (navigating frozen rivers), navigating the Lago Argentino, but without passing the sites which have been mentioned, this is an excellent option for those who have already visited the Perito Moreno Glacier before. Back to the hotel. Overnight.
