After breakfast, in the early morning we start our full day excursion to Peninsula de Valdes. As we go along we will go stopping at the best views of this unique formation. We will visit the “Centro de Interpretación Ameghino” where there will be an introductory talk on what we will see during the excursion. From its viewpoint we can see the Isla de los Pajaros. We will continue to Puerto Piramide where we will board a motorboat to watch the Southern Right whales, visit the quiet waters of the Golfo Nuevo for the breeding season and reproduction, from June to November. Then we continue our trip passing Punta Piramide where we can see South American sea lions. Afterwards we reach Caleta Valdes where we can watch elephant seals. Further along, we also visit Punta Delgada and Punta Norte, the usual places where orcas attack sea lions on the beach during February and March. At this point we turn back to Puerto Madryn, where we arrive in the evening. At night we recommend having dinner at one of the excellent sea-food restaurants in the city.

Breakfast and free day to enjoy Puerto Madryn and its surroundings, you can visit the EcoCentro, a cultural place where through videos, talks, art exhibitions, games for kids, etc. you can get information on different marine species. We also recommend going to Playa El Doradillo, an excellent point for whale watching from the beach, especially when there is high tide.
As an optional tour we suggest leaving in the early morning to visit the Punta Tombo penguin colony with around one million individuals. The journey continues to Puerto Rawson and finishes in Gaiman, this town was founded in 1874 by Welsh settlers. Gaiman is the perfect place to enjoy a fresh pot of tea, as well as delicious cakes, scones and pastries. As you follow the catwalks you will be led to face the glacier and admire it in all its grandeur. Consult about the extra charge for the minitrekking excursion on the glacier, accompanied by mountain guides for a two hour circuit. Then you will stop for lunch at a shelter (take a lunch box with you) and then back to the catwalks where you will spend an hour and a half watching the most incredible views and calving activity. Back to the hotel. Overnight.

The excursion involves navigating the Lago Argentino among huge ice floes and magnificent views of the western front of the Glaciar Upsala, continuing through the Cristina Canal to the disembarkation point at the Estancia Cristina where there are many activities to do. Another good option is Navegación Todo Glaciares (navigating all the glaciers) visiting the front of the Glaciar Upsala and disembarking at Bahía Onelli (only if the ice barrier allows it), then navigating the surroundings of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Another shorter and cheaper option is Navegación Ríos de Hielo (navigating frozen rivers), navigating the Lago Argentino, but without passing the sites which have been mentioned, this is an excellent option for those who have already visited the Perito Moreno Glacier before. Back to the hotel. Overnight.
