Day 1: Buenos Aires, Free Afternoon
Arrival at the International Airport in Ezeiza and transfer to the chosen hotel in the city of Buenos Aires. Free Day.
Day 2: City Tour
After breakfast we go on a City Tour visiting Plaza de Mayo, where you will also see the Metropolitan Cathedral and Casa Rosada (Government House), Teatro Colón, La Boca district with its famous Caminito street and modern Puerto Madero where docks were refurbished to allocate sumptuous restaurants along the river. Transfer back to the hotel. Rest of the afternoon free.
Day 3: Buenos Aires – Iguazu
Breakfast and transfer from the hotel to the airport Jorge Newbery to board the flight to the city of Puerto Iguazu. Arrival in Puerto Iguazu. Transfer to the chosen hotel. Check-in. Free Afternoon.
Day 4: Visit to the Argentine Waterfalls
After breakfast we will pick you up at the hotel for the activity to the waterfalls on the Argentine side where you will visit the three principal circuits. In the lower circuit walking along a trail you can experience the most magnificent sensations admiring the water cascades of up to 70 meters high. In this circuit you will appreciate the principal falls, Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat), San Martín and Bozzetti. In the upper circuit it is also possible to have a panoramic view from the trails. The Devil’s Throat is the most amazing and breathtaking fall that forms part of the Iguazu Falls. It can only by visited on the Argentine side.
Day 5: Visit to the Brazilian Waterfalls. Buenos Aires
Breakfast and activity to the Falls on the Brazilian side walking along a trail with countless vantage points and amazing views. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport in Puerto Iguazu to board the flight to the city of Buenos Aires. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Check-in.
Day 6: Buenos Aires – Ushuaia
Breakfast and transfer to Jorge Newbery Airport to board your flight to Ushuaia. Arrival in Ushuaia and City Tour in the afternoon.
Day 7: Stella Australis Cruise (Saturdays)
Breakfast. Check-in between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm at San Martín 409 , Ushuaia. Between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm boarding the Stella Australis. The Captain and crew will give you a welcome cocktail reception on board. Immediately afterwards, the ship departs for “the uttermost part of the world”. Through the Beagle Channel, Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego. The great adventure has just begun.
Day 8: Stella Australis Cruise – Cape Horn- Wulaia Bay
We sail through Murray Channel and Nassau Bay to reach Cape Horn National Park where we will disembark (weather permitting). The mythical Cape Horn, discovered in 1616, is a sheer rocky promontory 425 meters high. For years, this was an important sailing route which connected both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. This place is known as the “End of the Earth”. In June 2005, the park was declared World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. In the afternoon, we will go ashore in Wulaia Bay, historical site, which was one of the largest aboriginal “Yamana” settlements in the region. On the 23rd of January, 1833 Charles Darwin disembarked in this place during his trip aboard the HMS Beagle. This area is famous for the beauty of its vegetation and geography. Walking through the Magellanic forest of lengas, coihues, canelos and ferns among other botanical species we will arrive at a panoramic viewpoint.
Day 9: Stella Australis Cruise – Günther Plüschow Glacier
We will navigate the Brecknock, Ocasión, Cockburn and Magdalena Channels to enter the beautiful Seno Agostini, in the heart of the Darwin Cordillera in Tierra del Fuego. In this place it is possible to see the glaciers that descend from the mountains, some of them reach into the sea. In the afternoon we will go to the Aguila Glacier in Zodiac boats and disembark for a light walk on the beach, bordering a lagoon surrounded by mountains till we get opposite the glacier. We will learn about the cold forest in Patagonia and the movements that molded the landscape there.
Day 10: Stella Australis Cruise – Isla Magdalena – Punta Arenas – Puerto Natales
In the early morning we will disembark on Isla Magdalena, if weather conditions permit, in the Magellan Strait, an obliged stop where ancient navigators and discoverers got supplies. Isla Magdalena is an enormous penguin breeding site, which can be seen on our walk to the lighthouse; it guides vessels as they sail through the Strait of Magellan. In September and April, this activity is replaced, and then you will disembark on Isla Marta where you will visit a colony of South American sea lions from the Zodiac boats. After our visit, we return to Punta Arenas, where we will disembark at 11:30 am. We will continue the trip to Puerto Natales by public bus. Arrival at the hotel. Rest of the day free.
Day 11: Torres del Paine National Park
After breakfast we start our trip to Torres del Paine National Park, one of the most impressive sights of the Andes surrounded by glaciers, cascades, lakes and lagoons. We will visit Cuevas de Milodón (Milodon Cave) and Salto del Río Paine appreciating a wonderful panorama of the imposing Paine Massif. As the trip continues we visit Lago Pehoe till we reach Lago Grey and Glaciar Grey. After lunch, in the afternoon we return to Puerto Natales.
Day 12: Puerto Natales – Calafate, Free Afternoon
After breakfast we depart by public bus to the argentine border. After the formalities at the border, we continue our trip to El Calafate. Rest of the day free.
Day 13: Visit to the Moreno Glacier
Breakfast and a full day activity to the Perito Moreno Glacier, the most famous of the glaciers, declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. The glacier covers an area of 195 square meters, its width is 5 km and the height of its ice walls is up to 60 meters above the level of the lake. As you follow the walkways you will be led to face the glacier and admire it in all its grandeur. Consult about the extra charge for the mini trekking activity on the glacier, accompanied by mountain guides for a two hour circuit. Then you will stop for lunch at a shelter (take a lunch box with you) and then back to the walkways where you will spend an hour and a half watching the most incredible views and calving activity. Back to the hotel.
Day 14: Free Day for Optional Activities
Breakfast. On this free day, we recommend an optional lake activity “Upsala Explorer” which includes navigating the Lago Argentino up to the Upsala Glacier and a snack on board, visit to the estancia Cristina, Patagonian lamb for lunch and transfer in 4 x 4 truck to the lookout at the Upsala Glacier from where you can get an amazing view. Another interesting option is the activity the the Upsala and Onelli Glaciers, which consists in navigating the different branches of the Lago Argentino to visit five different glaciers, among them, the Upsala and Onelli which are the most representative ones. Back to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 15: Calafate – Buenos Aires – Tango Show Dinner Night
Breakfast and transfer to the airport in El Calafate to board the flight to Buenos Aires. Arrival in Buenos Aires and transfer to the chosen hotel. Check-in. Rest of the day free. At night we go to a Dinner Show in one of the many Tango houses where you will enjoy a delicious dinner and a Tango show of international quality.
Day 16: Free Day
Breakfast and free day. We recommend an optional visit to an “estancia” where you can spend a full day in the countryside. The outing includes lunch, which consists of a typical “asado” (barbecue), traditional dishes and a Gaucho Show.
Day 17: End of the Tour
Breakfast and transfer to the International Airport in Ezeiza to board your return flight.
