Day 1: Ice Trekking Cagliero Glacier

The tour begins at the visitor center of Campo Los Huemules, continuing upstream the Diablo River, making a walk of about 2 hours through a leafy Lengas forest on a path that accesses the Laguna del Diablo, 770 meters above the level from sea. From there you can see the Cagliero Refuge.

Before starting the 2nd stage of the tour, the guides will provide the necessary equipment along with the instructions and only then begins that 2nd stage outside the Los Huemules reserve, already within the Gorra Blanca Field, a private property, bordering the margin north of the Diablo Lagoon in easy but irregular terrain, until reaching the beginning of a "Via Ferrata" (rock climbing sectors of little difficulty that have previously been prepared with steel cables and artificial steps, so that passengers move autonomously and self-insured with harnesses and tapes specially designed for that purpose). This stage - fun and enabling fantastic views of the Laguna del Diablo and Valle del Diablo - is 1 kilometer and 200 meters of altitude.

After an hour, you will reach the Glacier Viewpoint and after a short walk, you will arrive at the front of the unexplored Cagliario Glacier, where the guides will distribute and regulate the crampons to the boots of the hikers.

The 3rd stage of the tour is the hike and trekking on the glacier itself. With good weather, lunch will be on the glacier. The stay on the glacier will be approximately 2 hours. Everything will depend on the climate and the physical level of the members of the group.

Return by the same way to the Cagliero Post at 4pm, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 2: Free day and return to El Chaltén

Breakfast. In the Los Huemules ranch you can choose self-guided treks taking Box Lunchand then, in the afternoon, transfer to return to El Chaltén.
