Walking with penguins in Punta Tombo

Punta Tombo is the most important colony of Magellanic penguins in South America. In this trip, we will visit 2 additional points: Escondida Island, for observation of elephant seals from the coast, and Union Beach where we can sail and spot Commerson’s dolphins.

In Punta Tombo we will have the fantastic opportunity to walk among the penguin nests and observe other marine bird species such as sea gulls, skuas, giant petrels, cormorants, American oystercatchers and steamer ducks. We will also spot some of the indigenous fauna from the steppe such as guanacos, Darwin’s rheas, Patagonian maras and foxes.

At Unión Beach we can board a vessel to sail during one hour approximately, to watch the Commerson’s dolphins, the smallest in the world (optional).
